The Thousand Islands Central School District is responsible for identifying students in need of special education services and arranging for the provision of those services. To qualify for special education services, students must be identified as being a student with an educational disability and reside within the district. The age of the student determines to which committee the student will be referred. The Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) evaluates and reviews students who are age 3 years to 5 years (who are not yet in kindergarten). The Committee on Special Education (CSE) evaluates and reviews students who are age 5 years to 21 years. Each committee maintains its own referral process and procedures.

The Thousand Islands School District takes its commitment to educate all of its students seriously. If you are the parent of a child with a disability, who may have a disability, or who may be regarded as such, and have concerns regarding your child and their education, please contact the Special Education Office at 315.686.4632 x3403 / 3401 for further assistance.
